REMINDERS: Memorial Day is May 30: Thank a veteran!

This will be my final blog on this page. District 97 will have a new site to find assignments in the 2011-12 school year.

Tuesday: Half team on Train Trip, other half working on College Career Day.

Wednesday: 7th grade trip!

Thursday: Talent Show and awards!

Friday: College Career Day and yearbook signing.

Have a safe summer and read!

Week of 05/23/-27/2011

REMINDERS: End of the year activities are dependent of work completion and behavior!
Friday, MAy 27, half the team will be going to the Train Trip.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Finishing up with the Civil War. This is our last chapter and the last test of the year will be on Thursday, May 26. You will be allowed to use your book and there will be an essay.

SCIENCE: The big test is on Wednesday and Thursday. Be prepared!!!!!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Continue Touching Spirit Bear. We need to read! read! read! due to time constraints!

READING: We will be using this time to finish Touching Spirit Bear. Your READ 180 stickers will be counted as assessed.

MATH: Finish in graphs: We will work on a pie chart and then you will pie chart a day in your life for a final project.

Week of 5/16-10, 2011

REMINDERS: Turn in all field trip slips to Ms. Woods.
For the train trip you must have Roaring Review by 5/25/2011.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Are you enjoying Touching Spirit Bear? Good, we'll be reading more this week. Journaling, Q&A and vocabulary for homework.

READING: Finish up the Read 180 independent reading books and take your final quizzes by May 27!

SOCIAL STUDIES: Chapter 9 test this Wenesday! Why did the North and South disagree? Be ready to defend your answer!

SCIENCE: Reviewing Astronomy all week!!!

MATH: Finish bar graphs and double bar graphs. Nightly homework.

Week of 5/9-5/13/11

LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be starting a group story called,"Touching Spirit Bear". We will have independent reading time and group reading time. I will expect you to complete the homework on a nightly basis as directed. Journals will be part of the assignments.

READING: Read 180: Independent reading and computers on a daily basis. Who will earn the most stickers from our group?

MATH: Bar graphs, line graphs and double bar graphs. Nightly homework necessary.

SOCIAL STUDIES: The North and South disagree...you need to find out why! A war to follow! Nightly homework!

SCIENCE: Astronomy worksheets that are math and language arts based on a nightly basis.

Week of 5/02/-06/2011

Social Studies: Complete C. 8 with a test on Friday!!! Study! Study! Study!

Science: Astronomy continues...Homework nightly!

Language Arts: Finish the poem booklets and present on Sunday to your loved one!
Worksheets on capitalization rules nightly.

Reading: Last Roaring Review due May 21. Comprehension worksheets nightly.

Math: Graphs! Graphs! Graphs! Nighlty homework with a pie chart for a final project!

April 25-29, 2011

REMINDERS: Invention Convention next Wednesday.
Last week of Health.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Begin Chapter 8: Women's Rights, Reform Acts and Immigrants. We will begin with immigrants. Where are your ancestors from? Expect homework nightly!

SCIENCE: Continue on Astronomy and reviewing for your BIG Astronomy test!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Capitalizations and beginning our Poem unit. You will be making a booklet of poems on a person in your life. In two weeks, you will have a booklet of poems to present to this person.

READING: Log due on Monday. Nightly direction following activities.

MATH: Proportions test on Wednesday. Review Monday, Tuesday.
