It's Election week! Who will be our next President of the United States?!?!?!?!?!
SCIENCE: Beginning ECOSYSTEMS. We will be doing web organizers for the three forest biomes. Expect to have at least 3-5 facts under each sub title on each of your webs. This will be decided by the differentiation scale. Also, begin thinking about which biome you will develop into a diorama for the final project of this trimester.
MATH: Section 1.7: PROBLEM SOLVING PLANS: This sections deals with deciding which plan or operation to use to solve various WORD problems. You will have homework on a nightly basis. We will be working on extended responses as well.
LA: Gold packets with your list of differentiated words will go home in Monday and is due back on Wednesday completed. We will be working on writing paragraphs that serve the purpose of explaining. What will you explain to your classmates in your paragraphs?
READING: We will do the final vocabulary packet for the Outsiders on Tuesday. It will be due on Wednesday, with a quiz on Friday. We will also finish listening to the Outsiders on tape. Your first "Roaring Review" independent novel is due on December 1, 2008. This may sound far off. Don't let time slip away!

Week of October 27 -31, 2008
REMINDERS: You may dress in costume as long as it's not inappropriate. You must also bring in a can of food for the food pantry.
I will be out of the classroom on Monday afternoon and Friday afternoon due to meetings.
SCIENCE: We will be reviewing for a test on Thursday. This test will include the cycles of nature that we have been studying for the last few weeks. Study and review your notes on a nightly basis!
MATH: Area and Perimeter will be the study for this week. Expect homework on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
LANGUAGE ARTS: Gold packets go out on Monday and are due on Wednesday. You will have your list with you on Monday. Each day, you will pick an assignment to reinforce these words. Know their spellings, definitions and be able to put them into sentences for the test on Friday!
READING: Vocabulary words from the Outsiders, chapter 8 and 9 will go home on Tuesday. It is due on Wednesday. We will be listening to these two chapters and writing journal responses and one essay this week.
