Monday: Clean out lockers, desks and trivia with the CORE classes!
Tuesday: Picnic/pool party!
Wednesday: Special team day to be announced!
Thursday: One hour for report cards and go home!

Week of May 27, 2008

REMINDERS:
* We are off school on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.
* This is our last full week of school. The last day of school is Thursday, June 5.
*All work must be turned in by Thursday, May 29! Grades are due on May 30!

LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be using this time to finish The Giver. There will be a test on Thursday, May 29. Everyone will be doing this activity. There will be short homework assignments on Monday and Wednesday.

READING: See above.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Continuing the movie and journaling. Your journal will be your final project for this year in Social Studies.

SCIENCE: Your experiment, paper and poster are all due on Wednesday. You will be presenting your experiment on Wednesday or Thursday.

MATH: Pie project will be completed this week in class. No math homework for the week. Journals can go home!

Week of May 19-23, 2008

Can you believe we only have three weeks of school left? Keep up the great work and behavior!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Gold packets handed out to a majority of the group. Please use your list of differentiated words and have the packet done on Wednesday. Three of you are using your reading and writing skills to complete the Social Studies project.

READING: The Giver continues. Journaling and work sheets will part of your grade.

MATH: We will be finishing up on graphs, both bar and pie graphs. Your final project will be a pie graph of your day. I will expect percentages and decimals on all graph tables.

SOCIAL STUDIES: What a great movie! We will continue journaling as an African coming to America.

SCIENCE: This week will be the week to work on your experiment, paper and poster. It will be all in class so we don't lose anything in transition!

Week of May 12, 2008

LA: List #22 for spelling, definitions and stories. Some of you have 10 words others have 20 words. This week, everyone will need to know all definitions for the quiz! Three of you are working on your Social Studies project using your reading and writing skills!

READING: We are starting the SCI-FI novel of, "The Giver". Part of your grade for this novel will be your journaling to questions and your thoughts about this story.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We will finish the Civil War this week. The test in on Tuesday. Please study! The mini series Roots and journaling will follow.

SCIENCE: Chapter 2: States of Matter will be finished up this week. Be sure you're working on your experiment at home. Be prepared to present it on May 28.

MATH: Fractions to percents to graphs! So much to cover this week! Continue on the idea of, "If I know how, I'll go on my own and check for the 90%".
