Week of February 2 - 6, 2009

LANGUAGE ARTS: Gold Packets go out on Monday and are due Wednesday with a test on Friday. We will be working on expanding sentences on Tuesday and Thursday. This will include adjectives and adverbs. Sentences need to be interesting to the reader!

READING: Roaring Review is due on Monday 2/2/09. An new review will go out this week and will be due on March 2, 2009. Prefix/Suffix worksheet will be handed out on Monday and due on Thursday. Be sure to follow all directions. Illinois Reading Coach during Tuesday - Thursday.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Test on Chapter 4 this Friday. All notes are due on Tuesday and we will be reviewing through the week.

SCIENCE: We are beginning the Planets study. Homework will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Major project will be done in the near future!

MATH: This week, using the Buckle Down books, we will be looking an the unit of KEY WORDS in word problems. Be prepared as this type of problem will occur on the ISAT's!

Week of 1/26 - 30, 2009

Reminders: No school on Monday, 1/26/09 due to an Institute Day.

SCIENCE: We are reviewing Chapter 2 this week. Your test will be on Friday, 1/30/09.

MATH: We are starting negative and positive numbers and calculator use. Homework on Thursday night only.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Beginning Chapter 4: The War for Independence. Vocabulary due on Wednesday and note taking guide homework on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Gold packet with your words out on Tuesday, due on Wednesday. We will work on an essay outline on Wednesday and you'll write in on Thursday. Test on words on Friday.

READING: Review due on February 2, 2009. In class work with the Buckle Down books.

Week of 1/12 - 1/16, 2009

SCIENCE: Continuing the study of he Solar System. This week is about the sun. Expect homework on Tuesday (p.42, #2) and Thursday (WS p.6).

MATH: We are beginning to prep for ISATS. We will be using the Buckle Down series in the classroom. Homework will be supplemental. This week, it's all about LCD and LCM. You will need to make up 5 problems with answers of adding or subtracting mixed numbers for homework on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Be ready to teach your classmates!

SOCIAL STUDIES: We are continuing the Growth of the Colonies, Chapter 3. THe test will be nest Thursday, 1/22/09. homework this week includes:
Monday, p 50: 1,2 and p. 55: 1,2. On Wednesday and Thursday there will be homework with supplemental materials.

LA: gold Packet out on Monday due on Wednesday, test on Friday. Explanatory paragraphs on Tuesday and Thursday IN CLASS only.

READING: Illinois Reading Coach books in class. Your reading review on your independent mystery novel is due on 2/2/09.
