SOCIal STUDIES: Begin C. 2 The Colonies. Note taking in class, homework on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
LA: Subject/Predicate work daily. Spelling due on Wednesday. Literary terms and spelling quiz on Friday.
READING: YOur report is due this Friday. We will be working on "How to" essays as well.
SCIENCE: Two part test on C. 1 vocabulary. Test will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Week of September 8-11, 2009
Math: Groups will begin today. You will be working in one of three groups in the room. Each group will be working on a leveled math skill. Groups may change as the year progresses. You will remain with a designated group unless otherwise asked to move. Please look to your planner for specifics on homework. Groups will occur on a Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday basis. You will have homework on these nights. Thursdays and Fridays will be designated whole group instruction using the Buckle Down series. You will not have homework on these nights.
Social Studies: We will begin discussions and reading on explorers to the New World. Expect homework on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
LA/Reading: On Tuesday we will watch and listen to President Obama's speech on education. Expect to discuss and write about his statements. During the week, we will be working on subject/predicate and proofreading. You will have literary terms to define and know by Friday. Expect homework every night. Finally, your 5 items about yourself are due. You will be writing about 3 of the items with the final copy due Friday.
Science: Using the Writers, you will be typing your 'What is a Scientist?' papers and adding a drawing of said person.
